The Greatest Name in SIGMA, was born in Memphis, Tennessee and chose business for his life's career. He was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Potomac Investment Company, Director of the Federal Life Insurance Company and President of the Taylor Tobacco Company.
is said to have been born in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Howard University on June 3, 1914 and did post-graduate work in Latin. He was very cordial and popular with the Howard University student body and Administration because of this he was chosen “The Most To Be Admired” for the Class of 1914.
was an outstanding educator and a preacher with a Master’s degree from Northwestern University. He received several Doctorate and honorary degrees from universities in Illinois, South Carolina and Florida.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. National History

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C., January 9, 1914, by three African-American men. The founders, Honorable A. Langston Taylor, Honorable Leonard F. Morse, and Honorable Charles I. Brown, wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service and focused on the motto, "Culture For Service and Service For Humanity". www.pbs1914.org

PSI BETA SIGMA CHAPTER HISTORY
has been around since the before the 1950s. Some of the earliest members of the chapter were,T. C. Calhoun, a school principal and Theodore Youngblood father of well known Sigma in the Austin area Alvin Youngblood.

ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY NATIONAL HISTORY
was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C., on January 16, 1920, by five coeds. The founders, Arizona Cleaver, Myrtle Tyler, Viola Tyler, Fannie Pettie and Pearl A. was originally founded on the campus of Samuel Huston College, which later became Huston-Tillotson University, in 1952.

Historical Facts
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity was the only African-American Fraternity to co-sponsor the Million Man March. They provided space and additional resources for March organizers at their international headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated are the only constitutionally bound brother and sister organization.
